Plants have been a keen interest of mine for around eight years or so now. I wanted to use this blog as an oppotunity to share that interest across the entire botanical spectrum. I am primarily interested in plant stress physiology; both the responses and adaptations. I also collect carnivorous plants, my collection is mainly made up of Sarracenia. 
I have a BSc in Plant Biology from Aberystwyth University and in September I  began a PhD in molecular plant pathology. This will mainly focus on using metabolomic and transcriptomic approaches, to study the metabolic and genetic changes that occur during the early stages of Late Blight infection of Potato.
